Waimate collects food and garden organics and glass every week. Rubbish and mixed recycling are collected every two weeks on alternating weeks from active serviced properties.

Bin-day rules

Before you put the bins out

  • Put bins out before 7am on the confirmed collection day.
  • Keep the red bin under 20kg, the yellow and green bins under 40kg, and the blue crate under 12kg.
  • Leave the property bins behind when moving house.
  • A property outside the kerbside zone may need a council-approved collection point or a rural recycling depot.
