Weekly for kerbside FOGO properties.

For accepted food scraps and garden material that can be safely composted.

  • Fruit, vegetables, meat, seafood and bones
  • Bread, grains and loose tea or coffee
  • Grass, weeds, leaves and garden prunings
  • Small amounts of tissues, paper towel and shredded paper

No — keep out of this bin

  • Tea bags and coffee pods
  • Pet waste, cat litter and nappies
  • Plastic bags and compostable food packaging
  • Liquids, soil, rocks and plant pots

Important rules

Use the service properly

  • Use a communal FOGO hub if your property cannot accommodate a kerbside FOGO bin.
  • Only lime-green caddy liners certified to AS 4736 or AS 5810 are accepted.
  • Keep food packaging, produce stickers and rubber bands out of FOGO.
  • Check whether an apartment building uses Council or private bins.
