Terms of use
Useful guidance, checked at the source.
These terms apply when you use the Collections Day website, exact-address finder, private results, emails and optional accounts.
Effective 29 July 2026
What the service does
Collections Day helps you find Australian household collection information using official public guidance and exact-property checks against council services. The service may cache a recently verified result and clearly identifies its official source and freshness.
Collections Day is an independent service. It is not a council, government authority or waste contractor, and it does not control collection operations.
Always check important details
Council schedules can change because of public holidays, service disruptions, property eligibility, private waste arrangements or source-system changes. Before relying on a result, check its source and freshness. For missed collections, urgent changes, eligibility or property-specific disputes, use the linked official council service.
We withhold a weekday or date when an official source cannot safely verify it. Information on the site is practical guidance, not legal, environmental or professional advice.
Accounts, links and emails
- An account is optional and is intended only to make private household results available across your devices.
- You are responsible for protecting sign-in emails, your Google account and private result links. Anyone holding a complete private link may be able to open that result.
- Only save an address you are entitled to manage, such as your home or a property for which you have permission.
- Transactional emails are sent only when you request sign-in or a lookup notification. Keep your email address current and do not request messages for someone else without permission.
Acceptable use
- Do not probe, disrupt, overload, scrape at unreasonable volume or bypass security and rate limits.
- Do not use the service to collect information about people or properties for surveillance, harassment, discrimination or another unlawful purpose.
- Do not submit malicious code, impersonate another person, or interfere with council and provider systems reached through the service.
- Automated or commercial reuse requires prior written permission unless applicable law clearly permits it.
Third-party services and content
The service depends on Cloudflare, Google, Australian government datasets and council websites or APIs. Links and official-source content remain controlled by their respective operators. Their availability, accuracy and terms are outside our control.
Collections Day branding, layout and original software or text remain protected by applicable intellectual-property law. Council names, source material and third-party marks belong to their owners.
Availability and changes
The service is being developed and coverage is limited. We may add, change, suspend or remove features, councils or accounts when necessary for accuracy, safety, cost or maintenance. We may restrict access where these terms are breached or the service is abused.
We may update these terms. Continued use after an updated effective date means the updated terms apply from that date; material changes will be presented reasonably before they take effect where practicable.
Liability and Australian law
To the extent permitted by law, Collections Day is not responsible for loss caused by an unavailable or incorrect third-party source, a changed collection, a missed bin, or use of the service contrary to these terms. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded, including applicable rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Courts with jurisdiction in Victoria may hear disputes, subject to any non-excludable consumer right to bring a matter elsewhere.
